Phyllis Traynor Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Phyllis Traynor made the move from Maryland to her new home in Aurora, North Carolina in 2016 with her Husband, dog and a sailboat where the love for the water and mud interact to make functional pottery to be used and enjoyed. The artist’s past careers in costume design and commercial art can be found in the functionality of her pieces, and her past as a Director of Children’s Theatre, professional and High School Theatre and Art Teacher brings a bit of whimsy that you are sure to enjoy while appreciating her work. With techniques backed by her degrees in Art and Theatre from Morehead State University, She had spent years honing her craft at Baltimore Clay Works.
