My name is Manfred Rott. I am an olde-tyme tool maker and olde-tyme sailor. I drank the bottle of rum in my life. Now the tyme has come to put the ship into the bottle. Here are some of my ships ... Long-time resident of Oriental, North Carolina, Manfred Rott makes many of his hand tools to turn fine woods or burls into small complex abstracts or wall hangings, threaded-lidded boxes, inlaid bangles, chalices, vases, candle holders and screens, various balls, and up-to-five-stage Chinese balls. He may turn, laminate, inlay, lattice, ornament, dye or carve. Works have been juried into the Bank of the Arts Annual Juried Show 2007, New Bern; Community Council for the Art’s Annual Juried Exhibition, Kinston 2007; and various years awarded prizes by Circle 10 Art Gallery, Oriental. Member Pamlico County Arts Council, Pamlico Woodworkers, and American Association of Woodturners. |
