Lynn Hines
"There is beauty in the detail." A native of Middletown, Ohio, Lynn attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating with a degree in Home Economics. She retired from banking in 2012 and moved to Oriental with her husband where she is active in her community, focusing on her interest in animals and the environment. Lynn approaches her art with the same enthusiasm she devotes to her other activities. Delighted to have more time to devote to painting watercolors, an avocation she has followed for years. “I remember sitting on the floor painting when I was four years old,” Lynn explained. “I found it fun challenging myself to see how I could make it look just like the original.” Hence, the beginning of Lynn’s interest in the realist approach to art. She loves trying to capture every detail in her painting, despite attempts by her instructors who tried to inspire her to “loosen up.” Lynn states, “I just think there is beauty in the detail.” Several of Lynn’s paintings have won awards and she often donates her art to support local non-profits. |
