Janet AdkinsMs. Adkins strives for strong design and bold, original use
of color within her simplistic style of art. A native of Austin, Texas educated at Smith College, the Sorbonne and UNC Chapel Hill, she has been an educator of Art as well as the French language at the high school and college levels. Artisticly , she has studied with Edward Betts, Joe Cox, Charles Hinman, Pat Deadman, Christoper Schink, Gerald Brommer and Skip Lawrence. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo, group and juried shows in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Goldsboro, Kinston, Elizabeth City, Jacksonville, New Bern, Washington, Wilmington and Southport Cooperstown, NY and numerous private and corporate collections. Ms Adkins is a nationally published poet as well. Two chapbooks "Spritsail" and "Sarabelle" are among her accomplishments . Her award -winning poems have appeared in magazines and several anthologies. |
