The Village Gallery in Oriental welcomes

The Village Gallery in Oriental, North Carolina is pleased to welcome our September Artist of the Month, Mimi Dixon. Mimi is a native of Kansas, and has lived in North Carolina most of her adult life. She is a retired teacher, a mother, a grandmother and wife of New Bern native, Winston Dixon.
Mimi’s first works included pencil sketching and oil painting. In 2004, she took up watercolor painting studying with New Bern artist Ed Macomber and later watercolorist Sterling Edwards as well as several others. She has painted a variety of subject matter including florals, waterscapes, landscapes and portraits. More recently she has created art in a style called “representational abstract.”
Mimi’s work has been exhibited at the New Bern/Craven County Library, the New Bern History Center, Bank of the Arts, Next Chapter Book Store and the Village Gallery in Oriental, NC.
