The Village Gallery welcomes
|
Pappy Khouri
Many of the paintings in my December show are about the Oriental Harbor, a special place The Village Gallery overlooks. It’s also been a special place for me. A place where I have grown and nurtured as an artist by many of the wonderful colleagues that have been a part of the Village Gallery. We owe a special thanks to Judy Wayland whose vision and energy has sustained The Gallery since its opening on April 3, 2009. Unfortunately, this all comes to an end on December 23rd. The owner of the building has another vision for the space.
We as artists would like to thank the Oriental Community and all our patrons for their support. It’s interesting to note that when the gallery opened, Oriental had five venues where art was shown on a regular basis. They were, Circle 10, the Station Gallery, Hodges Street Studio, the Wits End and the Village Gallery. We continue to look for suitable space in Oriental and hope that we again can bring back an art destination to the sailing capital of North Carolina.
