The Village Gallery in Oriental welcomes
SALLY ANGER & CARLA FISHER
As our April Artists of the Month.

Join us for an opening reception on
Saturday, April 3rd from 2-3PM at:

The Village Gallery, 300 Hodges St, Oriental NC 28571

Sally Anger
Sally Anger grew up in the coastal town of Beaufort, North Carolina.  She has experimented and played with art all her life.  In 2002 she took the plunge and left a career as a nutritionist to pursue art full time.  She obtained her associates degree in fine art from the local community college and then transferred to ECU.  She continues to explore new ways to express herself through experimentation, critiques with other artists and simple, deep observation of the beauty around us.

Though she enjoys landscape and abstraction, she is best known for her bold interpretations of faces, often on a large scale.  She says of her recent work:

"After painting professionally for almost two decades, I am finding the freedom from complete realism.  I am intrigued by the concept of making figurative work that incorporates the energy and imagination of abstraction. "

Carla Fisher
Carla Fisher is a fiber artist who sculpts with thread, often adding recycled materials into work.

She is the winner of the 2020 DaVinci Award for Contemporary Art bestowed in Florence, Italy, and is also a recipient of UNESCO Award for Women In Art.

Carla's works have been shown and sold throughout the US, as well as Korea, Canada, Ukraine, Italy, and England.
