Deb IannittoDeb’s first introduction and formal training in the art of enameling was in December 2004 during a week-long course at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina. In October 2007, she completed a course on texture on metal at the Folk School. Her instructor Steve Artz was knowledgeable, disciplined and imaginative ... a terrific instructor.
Deb's works are of the naive sort and include whimsical, colorful representations indicative of her imaginative approach to enameling. Deb is always on the lookout for designs, patterns and subject matter to complement enameling on copper. Although enamel on copper is her primary medium, Deb also uses paint and patinas on copper. In addition, she incorporates objects from nature and objects such as jewelry or small trinkets to her work. Deb has shown her work at local art galleries and art shows.
