After sailing with my wife Helen in and out of Oriental for over 30 years, it was not a difficult decision to make Oriental our retirement destination.  Charlotte is exciting, and Raleigh is interesting, but Oriental is home.

Painting is a challenge.  Trying to paint in a way that expresses one’s self is an exercise with many rewards. It is rewarding to extract the mental picture and place that image on canvas “Plein-Mind.”  Hopefully, my mental images can be transferred and a painting on canvas will emerge.

My second painting method is to select a particular feature from a photograph, then add my own conceptual suggestions to the painting.

My goal is to continue experimenting with art concepts.  Creating a personal art style anchors one expression.  I hope you will find my paintings unique in concept, colors, and expression!
