Alice Engel LevinsonA retired clinical psychologist, Alice closed her practice in 2000 to begin a new career as a visual artist. A natural observer and intuitive artist, she collects “impressions of people and the natural world. Observations lead to musings, scribbled phrases, and gestural sketches. These suggest themes, visual motifs, a palette. My intention in place, I reach for the cloth and then the magic begins.”
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and juried exhibitions throughout the United States, and in October 2015, she has been invited to display her work in the prestigious Florence, Italy Biannale. Over the past 16 years, this international exhibition has showcased the works of established and up-and-coming artists from over100 countries. Closer to home, her work may be viewed at the Hillsborough Gallery of Art in Hillsborough, NC, where she is a member, and on her website at alicelevinson.com. |
